The Convenience of Insurance Mobile Apps

Like all of you, I am an insurance consumer who has to buy auto insurance, home insurance and personal umbrella insurance for my family and wanted the convenience of an insurance mobile app.
My coverage happens to be with Travelers and I wanted to share the great experience that I had using the MyTravelers mobile application.
Recently, I added a separate Personal Umbrella policy to my policies with Travelers. The personal umbrella used to be part of my homeowners policy, but due to some changes in my exposures I had to write a new, separate policy. Sheila Ladeau of my office took charge of the application and ordered the policy from Travelers, making things easy for me. It’s when I got my first bill that I found how convenient the MyTravelers insurance mobile app was to use.
I had already downloaded the Travelers app onto my phone and had set up my other policies, auto insurance and homeowner insurance, to have the premiums automatically withdrawn from my bank account. This is not something that you have to do with the MyTravelers insurance mobile app – it was just my preference.
You could choose to continue to receive traditional paper bills or opt to have the premiums charged to your credit card. I opened the MyTravelers app to see how difficult it would be to link my new Personal Umbrella policy to my existing account. In fact, all I had to do was enter the policy number! And in just a few seconds, all of my coverage information and billing status for the new policy was available. With just a few more clicks, I was able to pay my first bill and set up my remaining installments to be automatically withdrawn from my bank account. And better yet, I was able to choose the date of the month that the deductions would be made. Then, I decided to change the dates that my auto insurance and home insurance payments were deducted from my bank account. With just a few more clicks, I had my bill payments set up the way I wanted them!
Nearly all of our insurance companies have great mobile apps or mobile websites available for your use. You are able to view your policies, view and pay bills, or change your billing plan. You are also able to quickly report claims while having all of your policy information at your fingertips. Some of the apps even allow you to upload pictures from the accident scene and check on the status of your claim. If you have not done so already, I urge you to download your insurance company mobile app to enjoy the convenience of 24/7 access to your auto insurance and homeowner insurance policies.
